Welcome to The Digital Naturopath, where we explore the digital tools health professionals can use to save time and grow their business.

I remember the first time I became acutely aware that I could save myself time by sourcing an app, or software someone else had built to free up my time to work on other things.

It was a couple of years into being the content manager for what would become one of the most popular and recognisable podcasts in the complementary medicine (CM) space. Beginning in 2014, it was a first of it’s kind, a proof of concept podcast and together with a stellar bunch of humans, we helped that podcast grow, and grow and grow.

It was kind of like a side hustle, like a little side-project that we each strapped onto our existing functions in the organisation. Within a couple of years, it became necessary for me to give up some of my other portfolio of work to enable me to double down on the growing media brand it had become, source continually high quality guests, be a media place of choice practitioners came to for their information, to collaborate across industry, attend conferences, showcase practitioners and researchers from all over the world, and to put CM on the map.

And boy, did it grow.

The first thing I realised I needed to change was to give away manually creating the video content that allowed us to embed it into the website and have it visible to audiences in places like YouTube. That process alone, could take me hours.

By this time (probably around 2016/2017) podcasting was really starting to hit its stride, we no longer had to explain what a podcast was and there were a growing number of platforms that included android and apple users.

Imagine my delight when I did some searching, and I discovered there was an application I could apply and it could automate the whole process of sending the podcast from our RSS feed, and packaging it up into a video for YouTube.

But that wasn’t all. This platform could also, as the name implies, Repurpose other content, from Facebook lives, to sending files to dropbox, or pushing snippets from your podcast out to all your major social platforms.

Suddenly, I took a job that was taking me up to 4 hours to complete for a one hour interview (and putting a huge strain on the memory of my computer too! Video files are huge!) and I got four hours per week, half a day back in my pocket to deploy into other areas we could grow.

Don’t have a podcast, but have content to repurpose?

That’s ok, this platform is versatile. Do you have an online course? Maybe you want to create little promotional snippets for it to send to your social media or drop into your email? Easily set up a workflow taking the files from your Google Drive to Instagram or YouTube.

Maybe you’ve been on someone elses podcast and you wanna drop it into Repurpose to create yourself some snippets?

Maybe you have loads of Reels content saved to your phone and you want to resize into something you can use in YouTube? They also have a service that downloads a non-watermarked version of your Tik Tok videos so you can republish that content in other places!

These are all possible with Repurpose!

They have a 14 Day Free Trial for this service to see if it’s for you, or plans that range from $15 USD per month through to $125 USD per month. In many cases, as affordable, if not more affordable than paying someone to do these things.

TRY REPURPOSE FOR YOURSELF

Want to learn more about what I’ve learned working in sales, marketing and digital media in the complementary medicine industry? Subscribe to my free newsletter, where I will periodically share with you a brain dump of the cool platforms I’ve come to know working in this space. There’s so many options, so little time!

⚠️ In the interest of transparency, please know that some of the links to services I recommend in my blog will contain affiliate links where I may make a small commission if you decide you want to try out these products as a result of learning about them here. Don’t worry, this will in no way impact you, or the price you might pay (actually, sometimes, it means you’ll benefit, depending on the circumstances, by special offers or discounts - yay!). What is does do, is put a few additional dollars in my pocket, so I can indulge in additional extra-large jars of Nutella (I’m only half-joking), don’t judge me! 😬 #naughtynaturopath 🤫
